In the Summer of 2012 the Olympic Games came to Great Britain
AUGUST 2012 - KDsports FOUNDED BY LOCAL COOKLEY YOUNG PERSON
KDsports founder Kian, joined millions of children and young people to watch the Olympics, and so inspired by London 2012, Kian decided he would like to see more variety of sporting opportunities for children and young people in his community. He started off by designing the KDsports logo and then learned new skills to enable him to put together a project website ….and so started KDsports.
Kian went on to survey over 100 children at his local primary school to see which sports children and young people in his local community, had been inspired to try as a result of London 2012. He produced his own short video using only an iPad and the VideoFX Live APP.
2013 - KDsports AWARDED COMIC RELIEF FUNDING TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY SPORT
Kian’s film was submitted to support a funding application to the Worcestershire Community Foundation and KDsports was awarded ‘Comic Relief Local Communities’ funding
This funding enabled local children and young people to have the opportunity to try tennis, archery and cycling (including the innovative ‘Tour De Cookley’)
All Year 6 children at Cookley Primary School undertook a Sports Leaders UK Playmakers Award.
The KDsports Video News Reports service is born!
Children and young people took on media roles to create video sports news reports, including an interview with MP Mark Garnier about the Olympic legacy for Wyre Forest and a report from the Worcestershire School Games.

2014 - KDsports awarded Sportivate funding via the Hereford and Worcestershire Sports Partnership
Sportivate funding enabling the KDsports project to engage young people aged 11+ in tennis, cycling and girls football and enable 2 local young people to gain their Level 1 Tennis Coaching Award.
2014-2015 KDsports become resident young reporters for the Worcestershire School Games Level 3 Events
